Vision & Mission

About the Estate of German Painter and Sculptor Christian Peschke

Angelika Lunger-Peschke

After the death of my husband Christian Peschke, I have made it my mission to maintain his great and extensive oeuvre. Many artists die a second death, when the work after the passing are used for commercial, selfish or inheritance reasons to mercilessly sell the estate an artist has built his entire life.

To prevent this I have decided:

_to establish a catalog raisonné
_to support the artist’s legacy through a variety of initiatives, including exhibitions and loans of artworks to institutions.
_to invite art collectors and art enthusiasts to the Peschke Estate introducing them to the Oeuvre of Christian Peschke and the permanent collection left behind.
_to collaborate with art curators, galleries and art advisories to develop powerful collections including his legacy.

The deserved posthumous fame is crustal to me to keep a couple of works available because an œuvre belongs not only in the museums and in private art collections, but on the global art market to keep the artists legacy alive.

It is also important that future generations can take a new perspective on the work of an artist, to have a new perception of Christians Oeuvre, yet to be confronted with such works and to continue to experience them individually.

A work of art that has been created in 40 years of intensive work contains many secrets, messages and truths that need to be explored and understood.

The work with the extensive œuvre is a great challenge for me, which I am pursuing with great effort and enthusiasm because it is a mission and responsibility towards Christian Peschke and the unique work of an honest and great artist.
